Guess who’s back!?! That’s right, Paul Oakenfold. Born in London, Paul relocated to New York in the 70s posing as Melody Maker Journalists meeting artists such as Bob Marley and Maze. During this time he began his DJing career spinning popular music in London like Earth Wind & Fire. Not much later Oakenfold became an agent and signed talent such as The Fresh Prince and Salt-n-Pepa while also representing Beastie Boys and Run-D.M.C. In 1987, Oakenfold traveled to Ibiza where he convinced a club owner to permit him to host an after party where he had previously failed at performing a new style called acid house. The act went well and Paul was on his way to become one of the world’s most widely known DJs in history. Oakenfold has continued working in the music world, but most recently his work can be found in the motion picture industry having written several film scores including the The Bourne Identity and Californication to name a few.
So enough on Paul’s background – “Who Do You Love” featuring the vocals of feat Austin Bis, is the latest from Oakenfold. The Progressive infused banger is signed to Perfecto Records and features a heavy melodies and pop-house sounds. The new song features a little of everything and that aspect can certainly be heard. Not one of our typical tracks we’d post, but we’re putting our money on that this will be one of the top festival tracks of the summer.
