I honestly have to say, I wasn’t sure if we would hear from Cedric Gervais again – especially after his escapade of trying to find Molly. But this remix he did of Lana Del Rey‘s “Summertime Sadness” is just as incredible as his story. As a young teenager in France, Cedric landed his first residency in St. Tropez at the age of fourteen. Gervais performed the entire summer at a club called Papa Gaio, when it hit him – he was good. Really good, at DJing that is. After pleading with his father, his father agreed to remove him from school and allow him to pursue his passion of performing at a young age. That next year, Cedric packed his bags and moved to South Beach in Miami when he was eighteen years old. Cedric now 33, still holds to this day the “youngest resident ever” at Paris’s Le Queen Club. The young producer and DJ has been signed to several labels including Ultra Records and for the past year he has held residencies at Liv in Miami and Marquee in Las Vegas.
Back to the music, Cedric’s remix of the Lana’s “Summertime Sadness” first appeared in November of last year when he performed it live at EDC – Orlando. Since that time, we’ve heard a few times on Above & Beyond ABGT as well a few other podcasts. The song itself is just too damn good not to post. So here it is kids. Enjoy.
