Meet Kane Michael, a master of awesome bootlegs. Based out of Orange County, California – the 21 year old producer and DJ is no freshman to the scene and his route to where he is today, is almost as unique as his style. As a young musician, Kane first played in a heavy metal rock band until he found himself experimenting in electronic music. Still very much influenced by heavy basslines, Kane’s first electronic sound was wobbly and distorted. However, it wasn’t much later the young producer and musician focused in on a style. The Kane style.
The first track we’re featuring is Kane’s remix of Pryda’s “M.S.B.O.Y.”. The song starts off with a club beat that simmers into a solid euro-house anthem with pulsing synths. The song then explores a progressive path, and as the track peaks, you realize it’s game over. Kane’s style is like dark-chocolate covered bacon with sprinkles on top – the best thing of every world. Which leads us to Kane’s second track featured: a Porter Robinson and Above & Beyond bootleg called “Sun & Moon Language”. Almost a year old, the song is an incredible piece, filled with the emotions of Above & Beyond mixed with the energy of Porter Robinson. This song played so many times in my car, I think the speakers in my car still echo this song after blasting it for so long and so loud. The song was also dropped by Above & Beyond themselves at Electric Zoo 2012, which was also a total treat. Keep your eyes on Kane, in our opinion he’s only going upwards from here.
