So we’ve been holding out on this one – waiting for the perfect moment and that time is NOW. Dan & Sam, the duo based down under – have just released something fresh called “Walls” onto Silk Royal Records. Since our last post, the two have continued to prove themselves as a powerhouse within the progressive scene and “Walls” does more than just that.
The original mix to “Walls”kicks off with a down-tempo progressive vibe that focuses on a central motif that follows the listener through the song. Shorty after the smooth build -up, the soothing voice of Maxx Hennard makes an entrance into the equation: “Don’t get in your head, you’ve got potential – that you don’t even know”. The song then leads us through a journey returning to the chorus all while giving us a rhythmic bassline to hold on to throughout the song.
The remixed version of “Walls” by Denver based Shawn Mitiska maintains the soul that Dan & Sam worked so hard to build, but offers more to the overall experience. Shawn is able to introduce a few more layers of complexity to the song including a little piano – which immediately melted us as a fan of the remix. Both the original and remixed version of “Walls” are fantastically crafted tunes, you have to listen to them both to hear what we mean.
