If songs could have personalities, then this tune would certainly play quite a character. On today’s Thursday Throwback, we’re going back to December of 2008. Signalrunners, the British/American duo was comprised of Alan Nimmo from Scotland and the legendary D.C. DJ Andrew Bayer. After meeting on an online music forum, the two formed Signalrunners in 2003. Based out of Washington the group was initially signed to Fraction Records until they were picked up by Anjunabeats.
Safe to say, the duo were certainly ahead of their time in 2008. “Meet Me In Montauk” paints a surreal surrounding with a space-like organ that brings the song into a catchy melody featuring a solid bassline. Certainly one of my favorites, Signalrunners are for sure one of the classics that everyone should have for any type of occasion.
